Are You a Drug Rehab Program?
"Drug rehab program" is a phrase used to describe many different types of treatment options for persons suffering from the effects of drug and alcohol use and addiction. Sober College invites you to call our admissions office to discuss your particular situation. Sober College is a very effective environment for newly sober young adults or young adults in need of a supportive and sober environment. We can arrange for intervention, detox and/or primary treatment, if needed. For students that have ongoing clinical, psychiatric and therapeutic issues, Sober College is aligned with numerous professionals that can provide services through our therapeutic services division. Our location allows access to top tier professionals.

Do You Provide Detox Services?
Medical Detoxification or detox is a process whereby individuals are systematically withdrawn from addicting drugs in an inpatient or outpatient setting, typically under the care of a physician. Detoxification can stand alone as a treatment modality, however, it is more often the case that detox is considered a precursor of treatment. This is because it is designed to treat the acute physiological effects of stopping drug use. Medications are available for detoxification from opiates, nicotine, benzodiazepines, alcohol, barbituates, and other sedatives. In some cases, detoxification may be a medical necessity, and untreated withdrawal may be medicall dangerous or even fatal. Sober College admissions staff can arrange for detox services should it be necessary.

What is Your Length of Stay?
Length of stay is determined on an individual basis. Our minimum committment is three months and our length of stay can include stays of up to one year. We understand that sometimes a young adult is returning to work or university and could benefit from being in a stable sober environment before moving on to the next step. Our living environments are smaller, family style set in the sober living tradition so accomodations are possible. Contact an admissions counselor to discuss your particular situation.

Can I Finish High School?
Academics at Sober College are provided on an individual basis. In addition to teaching core academic skills, we use a number of content providers in addition to our own curriculum. This combination allows us to accomodate a wide variety of education needs. Students at Sober College are taking classes at all levels, including high school completion and in some cases, G.E.D.

What About Dual Diagnosis?
Dual diagnosis or co-ocurring disorders is used to describe a person that has a diagnosable mental health issue as well as a primary issue, such as chemical dependency. In most cases, the person is using medication to treat the related situation. Sober College will consider a person that is dually diagnosed, and has clinical and psychiatric partners that can assist in a wide range of issues. An important consideration for us is the level of care that the person needs, their core issues and if they are stabilized or not. Additional specialized services can be provided, and while we do provide a supportive environment, we do not provide intensive treatment services. With chemical dependency it is not uncommon that there are dual diagnosis issues as well.

Who is Eligible ?
Sober College will consider young adults that are in need of a supportive 12-Step Environment. In most cases, applicants will have completed a primary treatment program or wilderness program. Applicants are both male and female and have a willingness to continue their recovery process. Applicants that have a recent relapse will be considered, depending on their history of sobriety and the circumstances of their situation. Length of stay is determined individually. Some students may need detox and/or primary treatment for 30 to 60 days prior to enrollment. Our admissions counselors can work with you on finding a suitable placement. We have established relationships that can benefit you when a higher level of care is needed.

I live nearby. Can I still attend?
Participants in the Sober College program will live in small, family style environments, while attending classes, meetings, group exercises, fitness and other activities in the community surrounding the home. Sober College provides a foundation for success for young adults.
