"Janet and I both feel we have been blessed to have you and Rick especially and Brian and Rob come into our son and our lives. Our son has over six months of sobriety; he is back to his normal self and doing great. He mentions many times how thankful he is that he had the opportunity to attend Sober College. You "Sober College Angels" made a significant difference for him. May God continue to bless you for the great work you are doing. You and Rick made all of the difference with your authentic concern. You go way past the requirements of your service to do what is necessary to help young men and women like David B.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! Just the fact that you are still communicating with us and keeping in touch is proof of the greatness you provide to all of the young men and women you serve. You are in our prayers and I hope God brings you many, many special blessings. You can be proud and satisfied that your work is doing so much good. He has had the potential all along however you made it possible for him to take his potential and use it. I hope that you will continue to keep in touch with us because every time we get an e-mail from you, you recreate the appreciation we have for finding you and taking the steps to bring our son to you.
- David

What Educators Say About Sober College

"The quality of work from your students is very good. I have told some that they are really educating me. It certainly seems that drugs and alcohol keep anything else from mattering. Basically, they are doing every bit as well as any of my students of comparable age. I know there are some studies being done here about the online courses and whether some athletes across the country are getting by too easily Well, not in my courses! I am happy to have your students. Keep up your wonderful work."
Professor Elizabeth Wahlquist, Brigham Young University
English 220: Composing Personal History, College Program

"I have to admit, initially, we were very unsure of accepting (one of your students); however he has gone above and beyond in representing your school. In fact, we noticed that he came better prepared, was always on time, and worked as hard as any student we had. We understand his success at our institution is due largely in part to your and you college's work getting students prepared for college and ready to be involved in the educational process. We look forward to working with you."
Randi Spector, Associate Director of Admissions,
DeVry University, Trade School Program

"The work that the Sober College students submit demonstrates the uniformly high quality of the instruction and guidance that they receive. Their lessons are consistently well-prepared and insightful. Their tutors are helping them to see beneath the surface of the material and providing them with the tools they need not only to master the academic work but also the critical thinking skills needed in life. I'm really happy to work with all of your kids --- you're so professional and passionate about helping them and your submissions are always so thorough that it's a pleasure to receive them."
Joy Dishkin, Teacher,
Laurel Springs School
High School Program

"Thank you so much for the work you do for young people. Luke really deserved this chance! He has so much to offer, don't you think? I was really holding my breath, hoping he would be able to do the work and complete it in time to get his high school diploma. Now that I see it, it's wonderful and I can breathe. I will submit his name for graduation TODAY and take it from there.

"In the short time that I had to interact with David, he proved to be an outstanding student. In fact, he was so good I considered at one time using his work as a benchmark for that particular course. The things that drew my attention to David were:

  1. The quality of his work
  2. His assignments were neatly and coherently structured
  3. His arguments were organized logically and they flowed smoothly
  4. He submitted his work in a very timely manner, always making the due date
  5. He was able to relate the subject matter to real life situations

All in all, I think David is a very bright, committed and highly motivated individual. Given his great intelligence and sensitivity, I am sure that he will put whatever opportunity to good use. In short, I give him my highest recommendation."

What Sober College Graduates Say About Sober College

"I often times think about the three months I spent at Sober College and how beneficial it was to me. I really think the Sober College staff has put together a solid program to show young adults like myself that sobriety can be fun. I think even more importantly is the fact that SC introduced me to AA and the Twelve Steps. I hope I never forget my experience at SC and how grateful I am of the opportunity I was presented with. I really appreciate that you keep in contact. I hope I will some day be able to make a return trip to SC and visit everyone! I'll also make sure you get a copy of my college diploma. I definitely owe it to you."
- David B.

"Sober College is an amazing place for young adults to learn not only how to have fun while staying sober but to also learn some basic life skills. The staff is incredible from their knowledge of 12 Step Programs to the amount of time they will spend with each of the students. Sober College helped me decide to start my own business and follow my dreams and ambitions and I know they can do the same for anyone else. The Sober College experience is one I would definitely recommend to anyone.
- Chance C.

"My experience at Sober College was a roller coaster for my emotions but always a steady improvement on my life. By the end of it, I was in such a good state, both mentally and physically, that I felt like a completely different person. I came to Sober College not knowing what I wanted, and the mentors and teacher really accepted that. They helped me see my options and lead me down the road that's best, sobriety. It took me a few months to completely give myself to that, but it happened at the perfect time. I am now living with my parents, thanking God every day for all I learned at Sober College. I miss it though; I miss the people, the mentors with all their wisdom, the teachers with all their guidance, and the kids with so much hope. It's hard to explain to someone who's never been there because there is a sense of home that can't be duplicated. I can't believe that I would ever write something like this, I guess that's a testament to how far I've come.
- Conor W.

"Sober College gave me the environment to start a new life. I was surrounded by people my age and eventually I learned that life is pretty good without drugs and alcohol. Not only did I learn to have fun without drinking and doing drugs but I began to succeed academically. I now attend a top ranked university and I am making excellent progress. And most importantly of all, I'm still sober!"
- Ben F
